Assign only what is needed
Project owners select target languages and checkbox-based capabilities when inviting collaborators. A community translator may submit alternatives and read context without being able to edit source text or approve releases.
Propose a different version
A translator can submit a suggested translation for a message that already has a draft, reviewed or approved value. The suggestion is stored independently; the current translation is not overwritten.
Resolve conflicts safely
The review process checks the source snapshot and target revision. If another person changes the message, acceptance stops with a conflict instead of replacing the newer content. A rejected version remains in the submission history.
Common questions
Who can edit source language?
Only the project owner can modify original source strings.
Can community translators approve their own work?
No. Approval requires a separately granted review or owner permission.
Before relying on this in production
Confirm support for your resource syntax and test exported translations in your application. Documentation describes supported workflows, not a guarantee of lossless conversion for every specialized format.
