Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-11-06 · Read before using LangKit or purchasing a subscription.

Draft disclosure — the legal operator identity, contact and address must be verified and configured before commercial publication. This is not legal advice.

1. Introduction

This notice explains how LangKit processes personal information when people register, sign in, create localization projects, invite colleagues, translate text, use the API, or purchase a service. It applies to the website and hosted translation platform. Contact the operator using the address shown below about privacy questions or requests.

2. Information we handle

Account information can include email address, display name, sign-in event information and session identifiers. Project information can include source content, uploaded localization files, translations, comments, language assignments, glossary terms, activity records, API-token names and usage. Billing records may include purchase references, paid amounts, transaction statuses and provider identifiers. We do not need to store full payment-card numbers.

3. How information is received

We receive data when you sign in, upload files, invite teammates, edit translations, connect a client application, or contact us. Technical information such as request timestamps, IP addresses, device/browser characteristics and error logs may be processed by the hosting infrastructure for reliability and security.

4. Purpose and lawful basis

Information is used to provide your requested localization service, authenticate users, manage permissions, transmit selected content to configured translation providers, process payments, detect misuse, maintain audit records, deliver support, and meet legal obligations. Depending on the activity, the operator relies on performance of a contract, legal obligation, legitimate interests in securing the platform, or consent where required.

5. Translation provider processing

When you request automatic translation, the text and relevant context needed to perform the task may be sent to the selected service provider, such as DeepL, Google, Microsoft or OpenAI, depending on the operator’s active configuration. Those providers have their own terms and data-processing arrangements. Do not submit personal, sensitive, or confidential material unless you have authority and an appropriate agreement.

6. Payments

Card payments may be processed by Stripe; crypto payment options may be processed by NOWPayments where enabled. Those providers collect payment details to process transactions and may act independently for fraud prevention, identity verification and regulatory requirements. LangKit retains payment references and entitlement records needed to reconcile purchases, subscriptions, disputes and refunds.

7. Team collaboration

Project owners can invite users and assign roles and languages. Within a project, permitted members may see its localized content, edit history, comments, activity attribution and associated contributor names. Do not invite someone unless they are permitted to access the project.

8. Storage, transfers and security

LangKit uses controlled authentication, role checks and security controls intended to protect account data. Provider keys are designed to be encrypted at rest, and API tokens are treated as secrets. Data can be processed in the location of the hosting provider or external providers. No Internet system is guaranteed to be completely secure; notify us promptly if you suspect account compromise.

9. Retention and deletion

We keep account and project records while the service is provided and for as long as reasonably necessary for contractual, security, dispute, accounting and legal purposes. Log and backup retention varies by infrastructure. You may request access, correction or deletion where applicable; some records must be retained for legal obligations. Deleting an account does not necessarily eliminate copies held by independent payment providers.

10. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, obtain a portable copy, withdraw consent where relevant, and complain to an appropriate data-protection authority. Contact the operator with sufficient information to verify and process the request.

11. International processing

Some hosting, payment, email and translation providers may process information in other countries. Where law requires safeguards for international transfers, the operator must ensure suitable contractual or legal protections are in place.

12. Children

The service is intended for organizational and professional use. It is not designed to collect data directly from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information.

13. Changes

We may revise this notice when our processing practices, vendors, regulatory obligations or services change. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate channel. The effective date is displayed at the top of the page.
